About Dr. Ritesh Acharya

Dr. Ritesh Acharya is a highly skilled Consultant Cardiologist and Cardiac Electrophysiologist with advanced expertise in the diagnosis and management of complex heart rhythm disorders and coronary artery disease. With a strong academic background and extensive clinical experience, he is known for delivering evidence-based, patient-centric cardiac care using the latest technologies in cardiology.

Dr. Acharya completed his MBBS (2013) and MD in General Medicine (2018) from the prestigious S.C.B. Medical College & Hospital, Cuttack, followed by a DM in Cardiology (2021) from the same institution. To further specialize in heart rhythm disorders, he pursued a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology and Device Therapy at Medicover Hospital, Hyderabad, gaining advanced training in complex electrophysiology studies, radiofrequency ablation, and modern cardiac device therapies.

He is amongst the first few cardiologists to be certified by IEPC , APHRS ( Asia Pacific Heart Rhythm Society) in 2023 in management of supraventricular tachyarrhythmias

Currently, Dr. Acharya serves as a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist at HiTech Medical College & Hospital, Bhubaneswar, where he manages patients with arrhythmias, heart failure, coronary artery disease, and structural heart conditions. He has previously been associated with leading institutions such as Sunshine Hospital, Bhubaneswar and Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), both as a clinician and academic faculty.

• Pacemaker, ICD, CRT, conduction system pacing, and leadless pacemaker implantation
• Coronary angiography and angioplasty
• Peripheral angiography

• 2D and Colour Doppler Echocardiography, including congenital heart disease evaluation
• Assistance in advanced procedures such as TAVI, PTMC, ASD/VSD/PDA device closures

Academic Contributions & Research

Dr. Acharya is actively involved in clinical research and has multiple national and international publications, including a notable publication in the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM). His research interests include cardiac electrophysiology, coronary interventions, dyslipidemia, and cardiovascular disease in chronic kidney disease patients.

He regularly participates in national and international cardiology conferences, including IHRS, CSI, and APICON, and has delivered platform and poster presentations at several academic forums.
